Dr Tahrir Basheer is a highly experienced female gynaecologist and has been practicing in the Illawarra since 2005. She has undergone extensive training in Australia and abroad. She has vast experience in the treatment of women’s health problems, including abnormal pap smears and vaginal and vulval diseases. In addition, she is an expert in private obstetrics, particularly for high-risk women.

Dr Simon Winder

Dr Simon Winder is an Obstetrician/Gynaecologist practicing in Wollongong, NSW. His practice focuses on women’s health and helps women avoid dangerous gynecological conditions. Dr Simon Winder completed his medical degree at the University of NSW in 1996 and has been practicing in the field for over 20 years. He also has a background in Accident and Emergency Medicine, where he gained valuable experience. He holds a Fellowship from the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and a Master of Reproductive Medicine. He provides expert advice and care throughout the entire pregnancy, from conception through delivery. He also specialises in infertility and genetic conditions.

His areas of expertise include high-risk obstetrics, early pregnancy, and ultrasound. While his main focus is Obstetrics, he welcomes consultations on a variety of Gynecological issues.

Dr Tahrir Basheer

Dr Tahrir Basheer is a highly qualified female OB/GYN and specialist in women’s health. She has been in practice for over 10 years and has treated many women suffering from gynaecological problems. She is experienced in the use of laparoscopic surgery to perform hysterectomies. She also provides care to women with fibroids and abnormal uterine bleeding. Additionally, she performs all types of obstetric procedures, including caesarean and instrumental delivery.

Dr Tahrir Basheer has a private practice at Illawarra Womens Specialist Centre. She focuses on women-centred obstetric care, and has completed additional training in ultrasound and high-risk obstetrics. She has a passion for teaching and is an educator, having been a clinical instructor at Dr Simon Winder the Wollongong Hospital and a conjoint associate lecturer at the University of NSW. She is also an examiner for RANZCOG pre-examination courses.

Dr Basheer’s passion for evidence-based medicine has led to her involvement in Quality Improvement initiatives at the centre. She has also been involved in the development of health guidelines and has recently become a member of the health district’s Policy and Practice Committee. She is completing a Masters in Philosophy at James Cook University and a Master’s degree in Health and Medical Law at the University of Melbourne.

Dr David Greening

Dr David Greening, Senior Obstetrician and Gynecologist, has a unique blend of skills. He is a Board Certified Obstetrician and has additional training in reproductive endocrinology. Based in the Illawarra region of New South Wales, he provides comprehensive obstetric care for women of all ages and all stages of pregnancy. In addition to his gynecology expertise, Dr Greening also has two midwives on staff to support his patients through pregnancy.

His practice is conveniently located in Wollongong with private rooms for women. It is close to the main hospitals and has a dedicated team of staff. His practice is accredited by the Royal Australia and New Zealand College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (RANZCOG).

He is the Head of Service of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and has more than 20 years of experience in obstetrics. He has trained in New Zealand, Australia, and the United States. He holds a Master of Public Health and enjoys mentoring junior doctors. He is a term supervisor for the JMO rotation within the department.
